A couple of other things to do in case we have a little more time...
cross stitch a butterfly pillow
make bird track pictures
collect snails in jars and pour salt on them :) it's fun.
go to the pet store and see birds, maybe even hold one
feed ducks at the park
play the game ants in your pants
